Oak Island has been a hot spot for treasure hunters since it’s discovery in 1795. Rumours of what could possibly be buried on that island have swirled around Nova Scotia for centuries and theories ranging from Captain Kidd’s treasure to pirates to the crown jewels of France are still believed to this day. 

Many treasure hunters have explored Oak Island over the past two centuries, six of which have lost their lives in pursuit of riches. While no significant amount of money or treasure has been unearthed, some remarkable discoveries have been found, keeping the mystery and thrill of Oak Island very much alive to this day.
